What Is TB-500?
TB-500 is a synthetic analogue of Thymosin Beta-4, a naturally occurring 43-amino acid peptide found in virtually all human and animal cells. It plays a fundamental role in cell migration, tissue repair, and inflammation regulation, making it one of the most studied peptides in regenerative medicine research.
Mechanism of Action
Thymosin Beta-4 โ and by extension TB-500 โ works primarily by binding to actin, a protein essential for cell structure and movement. This binding promotes cell migration to sites of injury, accelerating the repair process. TB-500 also upregulates the expression of metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2), promotes angiogenesis, and reduces inflammation by downregulating pro-inflammatory cytokines.
What Research Shows
Preclinical research on TB-500 has demonstrated accelerated healing of wounds, tendons, ligaments, and cardiac tissue. Studies have shown it can reduce scar tissue formation, promote hair follicle growth, and protect neurons from damage. Its systemic distribution makes it particularly interesting for whole-body regenerative research.
