What Is Melanotan II?
Melanotan II is a synthetic analogue of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH), a naturally occurring peptide derived from the proopiomelanocortin (POMC) precursor protein. It acts as a non-selective agonist at melanocortin receptors (MC1R through MC5R) and has been the subject of extensive research for its effects on skin pigmentation, libido, appetite, and photoprotection.
Mechanism of Action
Melanotan II binds to melanocortin receptors distributed throughout the body.
